Award-winning Chef Steve Lee clashes with Char Kway Teow Seller Sharon Ong when she critiques his tiramisu. The fact that it's true does not make her criticism more palatable. Indeed, Chef Steve Lee has lost interest in cooking after the death of his father. His life is further complicated by his commitment-phobia that results in rift between him and his girlfriend and food critic Nicole.

Steve's aunt Louise, fearing for the future of their restaurant, enlists the help of Sharon, who harbours a secret hope that one day she could become an accomplished Chef.

Steve lashes out at Sharon when she goes too far and unknowingly destroys a memento from his father. Remorseful, he decides to teach her how to make tiramisu to make up for his ill-treatment of her. Working late into the night, they fall asleep in the kitchen when Nicole walks in on them.

About the show

Chef Steve Lee (Gof Akara) is an award-winning chef who loses his passion for his craft after his father's death. His strained relationship with his mother Martha is not helping much. Slowly but surely, his morale and enthusiasm for life and his career is going down the pits. His bitter and disillusioned outlook on life is affecting his work.

Enter Sharon Ong (Sharon Au), an ordinary hawker who is a stark contrast to Gof's gloomy self. She is full of life, bright-eyed and passionate about guess what..the humble, greasy but irresistible char kway teow.

When Steve's boss Louise (Pamela Oei) decides to employ Sharon to save their fledging cafe business, sparks fly. At first resentful of her bubbly and seemingly rose-tinted naivety, Steve slowly grows to respect and like Sharon as they share their love for food.

Will his admiration develop into something more for Sharon? Will he give up his beautiful and career-minded food critic girlfriend Nicole (Jaymee Ong) for the plain Jane?
